We're looking for Special Projects Leads to own and run high-impact projects from end to end. The projects you'll lead sit at the heart of the AI industry, working directly with leading AI labs to connect them with the specialist human expertise they need to build, evaluate, and refine the next generation of AI systems.

Think of it as running your own mini business within Ethos: you'll lead the team, own the client relationship, and ensure every deliverable hits the mark. This is not a role for someone who likes predictability. Requests come in fast, often with 24-hour turnaround expectations, and you'll need to move quickly, make smart decisions under pressure, and roll up your sleeves at every stage of delivery, including hands-on quality control.

What you'll do

Own end-to-end delivery of special projects for AI labs and other frontier clients, from scoping through to sign-off

Turn complex, often ambiguous client requests into clear project plans, including scope, approach, timelines and resourcing

Recruit, onboard, and coordinate networks of experts and freelancers to staff each project

Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, managing expectations, handling escalations and building long term trust

Lead and develop Special Projects Associates, giving them the direction and feedback they need to deliver

Conduct quality control on expert outputs, ensuring every deliverable meets Ethos's standards

Identify process improvements and help build the operational playbook as we scale

Spot opportunities to expand client relationships and contribute to proposals for new work

Who you are

3 to 6 years PMO experience, managing complex projects and teams across different geographies

Experience gained in consulting and/or start up operations

Comfortable with ambiguity and energised by solving problems that don't have an obvious answer

A natural operator: you're as happy building a process as you are jumping in to do the work yourself

Strong communicator who can manage demanding clients and a distributed teams of freelancers or contractors with equal ease

Commercial mindset with experience owning or contributing to a budget or P&L
